Love is a Desert

This post was hard. I don't feel love. Because I'm dead inside.

I do love art and theatre though. And as I was leaving the art's campus the other day, I saw this great shadow catch the outside wall of the Robert Cohen Theatre. The shadow extends in the late day sun and is, I think, quite beautiful

I will say that, as a converse, I DO NOT love this weather. So hot. WTF California? It was like 100 degrees the other day. I literally felt ill ... Not unlike the feeling of being in love. Gross.

This photo is a juxtaposition. In contains an image of something I care deeply about (art, theatre, etc), but at the same time somehow feels empty and lost and reminds me of the desert that is Orange county. The desert, if you will, of emotions.

  1. haha not so sure this is exactly what I was looking for with a "love" theme...it would have been nice to get a little love from some light, but the shadow from that sign has been captured numerous times for these blogs over the years...and it was nice to get a little "love" out of those words and some commentary on the late afternoon quality of light. It's nice that you know what draws you in and speaks to your heart, even if you're living in an emotional desert ;)
