Lighting in Other Places - Texture
I thought this picture brought a really interesting contrast. The sunrise to the right of the image creates a sort of gobo effect across the brick floor, and it adds almost a double layer of texture. The bridge feels more dynamic with the additional lines across it, and from this picture, makes the bridge feel longer than it really is. I find texture a great way to not only set the scene, but also as a way to create more depth on stage. Something fairly close or small suddenly becomes elongated, and the shadows create a nice contrast with the source. A nice change from simply using light on it's own.

So much texture in this image! Love it! You've got the contrasting textures of the bridge materials as well as the light being textured very directionally across the surfaces. Really kind of plays with the viewer's sense of space and depth perception! Really nice shot!
