Janani Week 1

This picture I took over the summer and I thought it would be great to use for my 50C class had I captured it earlier but now I get to use it for 157 so YAY! :)

Anyways coming to the picture, having captured this on my phone I can't believe how beautiful it looks. To me this looks like something straight out of a painting and the series of brush strokes.
What captured me was that the light came from the back as this is a sunset picture and it left the surroundings in a kind of darkness and it lit up the sky in such beautiful colors. It is a very welcoming sight with the warm shades of the sun like yellows and pinks. The blue gives it a calm feeling and it also reminds me of the the par can where there is a halo and you can see the actor but the halo overpowers the actor in a way when it is placed at full intensity. I love the natural light I see because it is never a constant and there is always something new to discover. I hope to use some of the emotions I get from my poetry assignment and this picture and perhaps bring them together in one way or another.

  1. I love this photo, Janani! I love the spreading angles and how they give the photo depth and bring the focus into the setting sun and the tree line! I also really love the serene feeling the pastel sky brings in contrast to the dark, almost austere, feeling of the treeline. :)

  2. oooh super beautiful! I love the water reflection and the subtle quality of the blending of colors. I also like the silhouette of the skyline and how it creates a divide between the two "skies." I love when elements of nature have the power to make you drop everything and breathe. This photo, the lighting, the water and sky, do just that.
