Happy Halloween guys!! This is a photo of the Halloween makeup I did. If you can't see it clearly its a gorged eye and a slit open throat. This photo was taken in a friend's apartment. I found it cool that he used red trash bags to cover the ceiling light, making it work like a gel. Of course you can tell that the light is not evenly covered by the red trash bag, because the redness doesn't lit up in the entire photo. You could still see the amber color slightly mixing in with the reddish tone. I like how the light wasn't a deep blood red, it worked really nicely with my skin tone. It didn't darken me so much that you couldn't see the wounds. Instead, it made the wounds even more realistic. I wish there could have been more shadows to create a better structure in my face but overall the lighting and the color complimented with everything.
And here is a photo of my wounds in a amber indoor apartment lighting. Although the colors and the details in my wounds look more vibrate compared to the ones taken in the red lighting, I still had a lot of fun seeing the difference on the details of my wounds in different lighting. I even got a kid flashing his flashlight on my face in the streets just too see the blood glistening in the light, making it look like it was a freshly cut wound. Hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
Interesting that you showed the contrast between the two photos! This is exactly one of the issues we deal with when lighting dead bodies/blood and gore in the haunted mazes...we always want to light them with dramatic reds etc....but the bodies actually look more intense and more bloody with less intense colors (like ambers)..neat to see it take effect on a live person! :) great makeup!
